Hi Bruno,
this is a common mistake in the configuration.
when look at you casetype and look at the status validation tab, there should be checkmarks in the following option
– from none to open
– from open to open
– from in process to in process
this allows the cases with this casetype to be update within the same status, meaning you don’t need to change status update a case in status open or in process.
