Wendia Giveaway: Get a free ticket for the itSMF Live! Event in Frankfurt

Has ITIL forgotten about Medium Sized Business? This questions has been discussed in many IT magazines and publications throughout last year. The answer is No. IT Service Management aligned with ITIL rather means that IT is implementing a framework that always has to be customized to the relevant business and organization.

But how? What can you leave out? What has to be introduced? ITIL has not forgotten about Medium Size Business – in fact, medium sized companies are challenged to adapt processes and Best Practices to match their requirements and needs. How this can be done will be discussed by experts and IT Managers at the itSMF LIVE! Event in Frankfurt on 28 April 2014.

Wendia is giving away to free tickets for customers. If you are interested, just send a mail to Miriam Gögelein (m.goegelein@wendia.com). The first two entries will receive a free ticket.

Change Management Manual

IT projects are often related to a number of necessary changes. This is also true for ITSM projects and the implementation of (new) Service Management processes. In order to avoid stumbling blocks and insecurity, management needs to include all parties and employees concerned from the very beginning. And the whole team has to be guided thoroughly through the Change process. Jeanette Inderbitzin, PRINCE2® & HERMES®  consultant and trainer is introducing the most important guidelines for successful Change Management in our ITSM Expert Talk Paper.

You can download Jeanette’s manual here (only available in German): http://www.wendia.com/de/leitfaden-change-management

Scandinavian PUG Conference

The Scandinavian PUG board is happy to now present the interesting two-day program for the upcoming PUG conference. Speakers include Bluegarden Norway (who has used POB since 2005 to support a variety of business processes), Norwegian Statsbygg (who will demonstrate their advanced use of self service portals) and Danish municipality Herning (who is completing a very succesful migration project and will address how they support their processes in G6 seen from both a technical and business perspective).

Furthermore, Wendia will be represented with chief executives and senior consultants who will give various presentations to inform you about Wendia and the further development of POB G6 and inspire you in your further use of POB.

The board looks forward to meeting Swedish-, Norwegian- or Danish-speaking POB users at the conference.

PUG 2014 Scandinavia – Featuring Break-Out Session on Statsbygg’s Advanced Use of Self Service Portals

The upcoming Scandinavian POB User Group Conference will feature interesting break-out sessions on the use of POB – and we are happy to add May Liss Urang, from Statsbygg in Norway, to the list of speakers. Statsbygg has a very advanced use of Self Service Portals to handle all requests. The “Teknotorget” has approx. 1,000 users who turn to this portal with any IT-related  issue, and the “Servicetorget” serves approx. 500 users when it comes to any non-IT-related request. May Liss Urang will give an insight into how the portals are set up in POB, and the business value Statsbygg gets from offering self service.

Successful User Meeting in Denmark

The POB User Group meeting in Denmark was a big success. 27 POB users from 17 organizations met to hear about how RFC’s can be automated using cases and changes and POB’s Self Service Portal. Allan Eriksen, Vordingborg municipality, did a great presentation on how to make a service in the portal, how triggers are set up, and web services configured. A lot of relevant questions came up and they led to interesting answers and discussions.

You can read more about the self service set-up in Vordingborg municipality at http://www.wendia.com/self-service-makes-way-for-higher-quality/

Thanks to Allan Eriksen for his presentation, and to Herning municipality for hosting us.
